    Harold Morton Talburt was an American political cartoonist and journalist renowned for his incisive commentary on national and international affairs. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he began his career as a reporter before becoming an editorial cartoonist for the Washington Daily News and later the Scripps-Howard newspaper chain, where his work reached a wide audience. Known for his clear, impactful style and sharp political insight, Talburt won the 1933 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning for his piece "The Light of Asia," which criticized Japan's invasion of Manchuria. Over his career, he became one of the most respected figures in American editorial cartooning, leaving a lasting influence on political illustration and public discourse.
