(HARRISON, WILLIAM HENRY.) Arrangements for the Inauguration of the President Elect on the 4th of March, 1841.

3 pages. 8vo, disbound; foxed. (Washington, 1841)

  • Notes: Harrison's inauguration ended in tragedy. His 2 hour address on a cold wet day resulted in his untimely death from pneumonia only one month into office. Ironically, the last line of this government document giving the order of procession is: "Should the weather, however, prove unfavorable, the ceremony of the inauguration will take place in the Hall of the House of Representatives." OCLC locates just 2 copies of this ephemeral Harrison item.
