  • Notes:
Harry Gottlieb first exhibited at the Whitney Studio Club in 1928, before his first solo exhibition in 1929. At Gottlieb's January 1929 exhibition at the Whitney Studio Club, he exhibited some of his Paris oils alongside of his New York scenes. The landscapes proved very successful, of which a critic for The New York Times remarked, "there is a poetic note, clearly yet delicately wrought, in the landscapes." Gottlieb would return to Europe in the early 1930's after winning a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1931.
