Group of 3 colonial banknotes Signed, as member of the First Provincial Congress of New Jersey, engraved notes in various denominations issued by the Colony of New Jersey. Countersigned by Jonas Deare and John Stevens Junior. Each about 2 1/4 x 4 inches; moderate wear, printed in red and black on recto, and printed on verso "To counterfeit is death."   • Notes: These notes were issued for eighteen pence, twelve shillings, and fifteen shillings. Each was issued "in the Fourteenth Year of the Reign of his Majesty King George the Third."
