- Notes: Hayden (1890-1973) was known as "The Janitor who Paints." Born in Virginia, he lived in Paris and New York. His work was shown in the Harmon Foundation "Exhibition of the Work of Negro Artists" in 1933. Later exhibitions included the New Jersey State Museum and the Galerie Bernheim-Jeune.
