Deed of sale for "Two Certain negroes (to wit) one a man by the name of Rasmus, about the age of eighteen years, the other a woman by the name of Massie, aged sixteen years," for $900.   • Notes: The sellers were Stephen Boothe Sr. and Benjamin Boothe, both of Haywood County, Tennessee. Purchaser Hiram Bradford of Brownsville was a merchant; he owned a grist mill and operated the first cotton gin in the county.
