  • Notes: Large ink with watercolor, showing a bust self-caricature with hands pointing to his inscription, "The Goodrich's / Merry Xmas from all of us," with the heads of his daughter, Nina, and wife, Dolly, behind him. Approximately 20x33 inches; closed tears and remnants of adhesive along all edges, vertical fold through image, packing tape and postal ink stamps on verso, postage stamp and partly-printed address label from TV Guide to Al Hirschfeld mounted on verso. Radnor, PA, 13 November 1970 [from postmark] * Ink with color marker, showing caricatures of self, Nina, and Dolly, stooping below flap of envelope, addressed on verso in his hand to "Mr. and Mrs. Goodrich / (tickets enclosed)." Approximately 2 1/4x6 1/2 inches (image), approximately 4 3/4x6 1/2 inches overall; remnants of prior mounting at edges verso. Nd * Christmas card with drawing and inscription. The drawing, ink with watercolor, showing caricature heads of him and Dolly peering out from the New York Public Library, on the cover, drawn over a reproduction of Hirschfeld's "Library Lion with Christmas Wreath."
