HOFFMANN Professor (Angelo John LEWIS 1839-1919). Autograph Letter Signed, in French, to Auguste-Jules Drioux, editor of the French magic journal "Passez Muscade," sending a copy of "Magical Titbits" [not present] and giving some biographical information about himself. 2 pages, 8vo, heavily stained from chemicals in the paper. - Notes: Hoffmann was the most prolific of the early writers on "popular" magic. His published works are eagerly sought after by magic collectors and were translated into a number of languages.
