Hooker, Isabella Beecher (1822-1907)
Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Woman Suffrage Association, Held at Hartford, September 9, 1870.

Hartford, CT: Press of Case, Lockwood & Brainard, 1871.

First edition, octavo, published as No. 2 of the Tracts of Connecticut Woman Suffrage Association; disbound pamphlet, title and final leaf detached; 7 1/8 x 4 1/2 in.

"Concerning the progress of the work in this country we have only to refer to the numbers of distinguished speakers who have made the 'Woman Question' in some form the subject of their addresses to crowded houses; to the prevailing opinion, which is expressing itself more and more in legislation, that women, as to all rights of property and business, must be placed upon an entire equality with men, a position which must lead inevitably to their personal and political equality; to the large vote already obtained in the legislatures of several Western States for Equal Suffrage; and finally, to the actual admission of women to the polls in the Territory of Wyoming, to their election and actual service as grand and petit jurors, and their appointment and service as justices of the peace."
