Illuminated liturgical manuscript in Latin, written in Gothic script in black ink, 14 lines, recto and verso, on vellum. with five miniatures in colors and gold within floral borders, and numerous small decorated initials in gold on pink or blue ground with penwork in white, including 4 merging into floral borders. 96 leaves. 161x120 mm, 16th-century calf with gilt Crucifixion stamp on covers, spine ends chipped, cover corners worn through, front joint cracked, cords intact; scattered stains, some text passages heavily rubbed affecting legibility, miniatures and other illumination generally quite well preserved, Hours of the Holy Spirit unfinished, with last leaf ruled but otherwise blank. France, circa 1450-1500

Contents: Calendar (leaves 1r-12v); Gospel Sequences (13r-18r); Obsecro te (18v-22r); O intemerata (22v-26r, 26v blank); Hours of the Virgin (27r-70r, 70v blank); Penitential Psalms and Litany (71r-89v); and Hours of the Holy Spirit (90r-96, with 96r-v left blank). The Office of the Dead is not present. The miniatures show the Evangelists (13r); the Annunciation (27r); the Nativity (51r); David in Prayer (71r); and the Crucifixion (90r).
