(HOUDINI, BEATRICE.) Copper sheet keepsake Signed by Bess. Small copper sheet, 5 1/4x3 1/4 inches, with letterpress name and address at the head of the sheet and Beatrice Houdini's bold signature beneath. Np, circa 1936
- Notes: Made to resemble a small piece of personal letterhead and produced as keepsakes, with Beatrice's name and Laurel Canyon address at the top. For years people thought of the house at this address as the "Houdini" house. In fact, Houdini never lived there and Bess was renting the guest house for only a few months. Manny Weltman at one point successfully insisted that a real estate agent stop trying to sell the house with the name Houdini attached to it.
