The Dolly Dialogues first appeared in the Westminster Gazette during the paper's inaugural year, 1893, and was published in book form the following year. It was republished numerous times in both Britain and America, with one edition even featuring illustrations by Arthur Rackham. Christy's illustrations were produced for this New York edition, widely considered the most lavish version.
