Etching and aquatint, circa 1938. 330x265 mm; 13x10½ inches, wide margins. Signed, titled and inscribed in pencil, lower margin.

Hugh Botts was a well known and respected print maker who was best known for New York City scenes. When Botts died in 1964 at the age of 61, he was referred to as among the 10 best printmakers in the country by Who's Who in American Art.
Mr. Botts was a member of the American Society of Etchers, Engravers, Lithographers and Woodcutters, Inc and was the former national director of the Audubon Art Association.

  • Condition: Appears to be in overall good condition, aside from dark spot in lower margin verso, almost imperceptible recto. Extremely slight edgewear and soft crease in the upper right corner.

    Tape and hinge remnants from previous matting along top sheet edge recto and verso.
