I.F.J. RICHTER (DATES UNKNOWN) BUDAPEST. 1936.
37 5/8x24 7/8 inches. Zilahy Dezso.
Condition A.
A stylized, Art Deco view, looking over Budapest's Chain Bridge towards Parliament. Construction on the Chain Bridge (Széchenyi Lánchid) began in 1839. It was the first bridge to cross the Danube that physically connected the two cities of Buda and Pest. It is called the Chain Bridge as no wires or cables were used in its construction, but rather a chain, much like that on a bicycle. The cities of Buda and Pest officially merged in 1873 and the Parliament was built between 1896 and 1904.
