  • Notes: Simeon B. Osby (1904-1993) was the editor and publisher of the Capital City News in Springfield, Illinois. Before the war, he worked with the Federal Transient Bureau that aided blacks emigrating out of the South, as well as acting as ombudsman for the Springfield black community. During the war he was a 1st lieutenant in the Pacific theater.
