- Notes: The original work by Mackentosh -- a Cherokee doctor -- was published in New York in 1827 and is quite scarce. Evidently, it was scarce at the time of publication as well, necessitating this true copy. The "Receipts" comprise Native American cures for common and uncommon illnesses. See Sabin 43413 and Siebert Sale 626 for the published version.
