- Notes: The Wamesit tract was granted to several tribes of "Praying Indians" -- i.e. Indians who had converted to Christianity -- by John Eliot in the 1650s and sold to whites in 1686. Tyng was the founder of Dunstable Massachusetts. By the time of this deed, most of the Praying Indians had been killed during King Philip's War.
