Album entitled "Photographic Views of Lynn, Massachusetts, With Historical Sketches from 1629-1879," containing 34 photographs and many period, composite advertisements for local companies, some of which are in color. Photographed by C. E. Cook and published by Josiah W. Heal. The photographs depict street scenes throughout Lynn's commercial downtown district, including Mrs. Lydia E. Pinkham's Residence and Laboratory, a FOR SALE advertisement, the Lynn Hotel, a bustling Union Street, the P.P. Tapley & Co. Building ("Manufacturers of Kid, Goat, and Morocco of all kinds"), market square, Baltimore St., the unusual architecture of the Bay State Wheel Company, Allen's Boarding House, in addition to "Lovers Leap" and an historic monument. Albumen prints, 4 1/2x6 1/2 inches (11.4x16.5 cm.), each with a printed caption, includes 2 broadsides. Oblong gilt-lettered 4to, cloth, worn; a few leaves are detached. 1879-1880
