In 1986, the World Congress of Outdoor Advertising was held in Paris. A huge cultural event was organized under my direction!. It was the first time that the 3 leaders of the new Japanese graphic design school were exhibited in the Western world. They produced four original posters, all printed in Japan, that clearly show the new esoteric trend of Japanese graphic design preeminent in the 1980s, when it was used to advertise leading fashion brands and department stores. Tsuguya Inoue 1947, who is known for his impressive work for Seiko and Parco and for using photographs of nature, animals, and insects, designed two of the posters in this series. Makoto Saito 1952, who did quirky, original, and powerful posters for Alpha Cubic and Batsu which were a revolution in collage and photomontage, created one poster. MasatoshiToda 1948, whose series for Vivre 21 shows a new approach to Surrealism, also designed one poster.
