INSCRIBED TO T. S. ELIOT PROKOSCH, FREDERIC. Unpublished book of poetry entitled "The Somnambulists." 16 typed poems and 3 ink and wash illustrations on tissue paper tipped to pages, by Prokosch. [56] pages. 8vo, black cloth-backed decorated paper boards, split to head of spine; preliminaries glued together at gutter, but cleanly separated from rest of sewn signatures. New Haven, 1933
- Notes: one of only three copies created by prokosch. this inscribed to t. s. eliot on colophon, dated May 1933. It is not known if this book reached Eliot as the two connected a year later in 1934 when Prokosch sent Eliot a handsome published version of Eliot's "Words for Music" as a gift. Eliot was so impressed that he sent Prokosch the text for his "Two Poems" to publish for friends and family. From that point, the two writers began a cordial relationship.
