Ira and George Gershwin.
Etching, 9 1/2x12 3/8 inches oblong, full margins. Artist's proof, signed by Hirschfeld and annotated "A.P. XII/XX" in pencil, lower margin. 1981.
"George and Ira were the two remarkable music masters of the time. Actually, I became quite friendly with both of them. I'd visit their home on the Upper West Side and listen to George play. George was an incorrigible entertainer. If there was a piano around, you couldn't keep him away from it. Ira was the exact opposite of George, very much introverted, very shy. HOL/195
