Salvatierra, 4 April 1816 E800/1,200 Iturbide (1783-1824) issued the Plan de Iguala in 1821 calling for an indepen-dent Mexican state, emperor of Mexico from 1822-23 known as Agustin I, overthrown by Santa Anna, escaped to Europe but returned in 1824 and was exe-cuted.
