  • Notes: Philadelphia publisher John Binns had accused candidate Andrew Jackson of murder using a series of "Coffin Broadsides." Binns is here shown struggling under the weight of these coffins, and the added weight of Jackson''s unsuccessful opponents Henry Clay and John Quincy Adams (clutching the presidential chair). Reilly, American Political Prints 1828-3. Provenance: Swann sale, 31 March 2011, lot 245, to the consignor.
