Exhibited: James Denmark, Sculpture-Collage-Charcoal, New Works, Acts of Art, Inc., New York, November 16 - December 7, 1973. With the title and gallery label on the verso. Includes the printed pamphlet for his second solo exhibition at Acts of Art. This West Village gallery also showed the famous 1971 Rebuttal to Whitney Museum Exhibition, and works by the artists Ann Tanksley and Frank Wimberley.

Lagoon is the first abstract collage by this artist to come to auction, and one of his earliest collages, made when James Denmark was a first year MFA student at Pratt Institute in 1973.
