"Australian poster artists ocassionally used aboriginal figures in their imagery, usually in the noble savage pose so popular during the thirties with documentary photographers and anthropologists" (Trading Places / Australian Travel Posters 1909-1990, p. 8). This image, complete with an aborigine tribesman, a boomerang and a kangaroo, went straight to the heart of the exotic, wild, historical and cultural attractions of the continent. Voyage p. 132.
