- Notes: Emma Louise Liberty was the wife of Arthur Lasenby Liberty, of the famed Liberty & Co. fabrics of London. Liberty's Regent Street store was filled with Japanese and Eastern fabrics, objects, and furnishings and his distinctive floral textile designs are popular to this day. The photographs in this book were taken in by Mrs. Liberty in 1888-1889 when the couple travelled to Japan with their friends Charles Holme and Sir Alfred East.
