  • Notes: From a household encyclopedia which underwent several reprints between 1831 and 1864. These examples are probably circa 1850-1864. Includes black-and-white woodcut maps of Edo (Tokyo), Osaka, Kyoto, and sites in the neighborhood of Kyoto. Color woodblocks are generally in 5 registers and picture mountain pathways, famous places for viewing cherry blossoms, sites for contemplation for a Confusican gentleman, map of places for the Gion festival on the Kamogawa River in Kyoto, and Mt. Fuji.
