Olympic Airways was formed in 1957 by Aristotle Onassis who had purchased the struggling Greek National Airlines from the Greek State the previous year. The airline operated 13 DC-6s between 1958 and 1967. This poster, a modern photomontage of a classical statue (specifically, the Roman version of the famous Discobolus), likely struck the perfect chord for the new airline.
