The whole inlaid into a piece of quadruple plywood. Not signed. Np, circa 1925-1930 E1000-1500 A detailed piece of marquetry depicting three jazz musicians: one seated at an old upright piano, the other two standing a double-bass player and a tenor saxophone player. At least a dozen different types of wood with differing grains have been used to show shadow and reflection, the folds in the players' clothes, etc. Dated from the style of dress and the wood employed.
