Jean-Michel Basquiat, with his street and graffiti-inspired wild style of art, flashed like a comet in the American contemporary art scene. His meeting in 1981 with Andy Warhol was a turning point in his career and quickly made him one of the most celebrated living artists, exhibited around the world. In Paris, he had an exhibition in 1987 at the Daniel Templon Gallery and then a year later at Yvon Lambert. After his death from a drug overdose in the summer of 1988, his work was exhibited at Paris' Galerie Enrico Navarra. This poster, which was displayed on Parisian kiosks that were strictly dedicated to art exhibitions, was printed in a very limited number of copies. It shows part of one of Basquiat's most emblematic works, "Brother's sausage," 1983, a mixture of afro-influence, media and comic strip.
