  • Notes: A rich and detailed watercolor for this celebrated edition of African-American folktales. Jerry Pinkney has won numerous awards for his body of over 100 illustrated books, including the coveted Caldecott Medal for 2010 for which he is the first African-American artist to hold that honor. He is also the first illustrator to be honored with a full-scale retrospective of his work at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
