JEWISH NATIONAL FUND. Circa 1945

Established in 1901, the purpose of the Jewish National Fund was to purchase land and raise money for the creation of a Jewish state. In 1948, when Israel declared it's independence, the JNF worked to reclaim and reforrest land, boosting agricultural expansion and providing employment for thousands of new immigrants.
