Pen, ink and correction fluid over marker on onion skin paper. 166x255 mm; 6 1/2x10 inches, on 13 3/4x11-inch sheet. Signed "Joan Chiverton" in lower right image. Taped to double window matte.

Before her professional training at the School of Visual Arts, Joan Chiverton grew up drawing New York City's people and cultural scene. She was an award-winning art director for various advertising agencies before she began illustrating for publications such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Chiverton continues to produce drawings, paintings, and etchings in her studio in New York City.
