The First World Advertising Congress was held in Berlin in 1929. It was the brainchild of H.K. Frenzel, who was the editor of the influential German advertising magazine Gebrauchsgraphik, from 1924 to 1937. This event was an important step in elevating the prominence of posters as marketing tools. This poster, with its simple, recognizable imagery, promotes the theme of the event, "Advertising - the key to the wealth of the world." Although very little information exists about the artist, the poster is nonetheless an important historical document.
