  • Condition: Joel Meyerowitz's "The Blue Chair" (1977; printed 1990) is in good condition. The color is quite strong, with rich blues and creamy whites, and the print bright and bold.

In strong, raking light it is possible to see scattered soft half-moon handling marks and tiny handling creases across the image area. These are largely not visible when viewing the print under typical conditions, but do impact the sheet across the image area. There is also a short horizontal crease at the top of the image area, but this too is not visible under typical conditions.

The margins and versoo are overall neat and clean. With Meyerowitz's signature, title, and negative and print dates in ink on verso.

Provenance: Gift of the Photographer in 1996; to the Collection of Neil Robert Berzak
