Folio, second edition, two parts in one volume as issued with separate title page for Erasmus Oswald Schreckenfuchs' (1511-1579) Opus Posthumum: Exactissimam, Praecipuarum in Orbe Terrarum Gentis; woodcut printer's marks to each title page and colophon, the first part illustrated with 4 folding typographical tables; the second part illustrated with 15 folding woodcuts with unconstructed volvelle parts; contemporary ownership inscription of Wilhelm Upilio (d. 1594) to first title page (Upilio was a physician, as noted in his ownership inscription, and director of the Wurzburg hospital from 1581 until his death; he also composed astrological calendars); a few marginal notations; bound in early blind-ruled parchment over boards, lacking ties; some slight water stains, generally good; ex libris Nordkirchen Castle with stenciled armorial book label; sold as part of the stock and reference library of H.P. Kraus with label inside front board; 12 1/2 x 8 in.

Garcaeus's Astrologiae Methodus is one of the first works to cover meteorology. Schreckenfuchs was a student of Sebastian Munster, and the two later collaborated together.
