"John Copley was a prolific and influential painter and printmaker . . . [he] helped Joseph Pennnell set up the Senefelder Club in 1909, with the aim of reviving lithography as an artistic medium . . . In the late 1940s he was President of the Royal Society of British Artists. His work was exhibited widely in the UK and in Chicago" (ltm.com).
