This etching depicts Romany Marye, who was one of the first 'tea room hostesses' in New York City. Marye attracted artists and writers to her restaurants through her humor, hospitality and kindness.

A very good impression of this scarce etching. We have found only one other impression at auction in the last 30 years. Morse 278.
