Ex-collection the artist's estate, Harry Wickey, New York (1960), ACA Galleries, New York and Terry Dintenfass, Inc., New York (1979-1983), with the gallery labels on the frame back. Exhibited at Whitney Museum John Sloan Retrospective, New York, 1952, illustrated in the catalogue as #134.
With a letter with The Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts letterhead from the artist's wife, Helen Farr Sloan, explaining the provenance, dated March 7, 1968 on the frame back.
