JOHNSON, J. ROSAMOND. Manuscript Score Signed "On The Road to the Moon." Piano "reduction" of the full score with indications for voice, etc. Marked "Andante Moderato" at upper left; title in bold letters, top center; at right, "words and music by J. Rosamond Johnson ASCAP," in Johnson's hand. At foot of first page Johnson signed the piece and wrote his address "154 W. 131 St, New York 27, N. Y." 4 pages, folio, on printed music paper, taped at fold where two sheets were joined. New York, 1944 E800/1,200 MANUSCRIPT SCORE SIGNED BY JOHNSON best known for writing the music considered the National Anthem of Black America, "Lift Every Voice."
