- Notes: Official notice prohibiting Jews from dealing in gold and silver. Although Jews had lived in Sweden since the 17th century, they were first granted formal legal status with legislation in 1779 and 1782 that permitted them to live only in the cities of Stockholm, Göteborg and Norrköping subject to various restrictions on commercial and other activities.
