Portrait of Alice Rohrer. Silver print, 9 3/4x7 1/2 inches (24.8x19 cm.), signed, in pencil, on mount recto. Circa 1930 Alice Rohrer was a patron of the arts in southern California. Most notably, she was a significant supporter of Edward Weston, and in the fall of 1932 presented him with $500 to guarantee the completion of his book the art of edward weston. Weston, in turn, dedicated the volume to Rohrer.
