Charles Maurice Fleischner (1901-1988) was a lieutenant commander of the U.S. Naval Reserve who, in Berlin in 1946, served as deputy chief of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program--established during WWII by the Allies to protect objects of cultural importance.
