Ruggles served as Kent''s model for Captain Ahab in his illustrated version of Moby Dick. A Signed copy of the illustration "On Earth, Peace" is laid in. 1920 * Voyaging. Ex-collection critic and author Henry S. Canby with his signature. Also a TLS by Kent to Leon Gutterman of the Wisdom Encyclopedia, thanking the group for honoring him "[it] is particularly heartening to me at this time when all feeling Americans are so deeply distressed by their country''s actions in Santo Domingo and Vietnam, and by the loss to us of most of all the world''s respect." New York, 2 May, 1966, 1 page, 8vo, on Ausable Forks letterhead.
