First edition, first printing, quarto; publisher's advertisement on verso of ownership leaf listing ten titles as called for; with 12 full-color plates and numerous illustrations throughout by Neill; bound in binding A: light blue cloth, pictorial label to front board, illustrated endpapers, all edges stained yellow, with the double horizontal rules stamped at top and bottom of spine and the publisher's imprint reading "Reilly & Britton" (lacking dust jacket; few spots to frontispiece; scattered spots and minor stains, handful of neatly repaired marginal tears, occasional creasing; small loss to lower edge of pictorial label, a touch cocked, light staining, rubbed, bumped, some fading to yellow edge stain, front hinge bit tender, minor stain to lower endpaper); 8 7/8 x 6 ½ in.
