Denslow, illustrated title in Blanck's state A with no copyright stamp at verso, the plate showing Dorothy holding Toto by the ear appears opposite page 12 instead of page 14, with plates opposite pp. 34 and 92 in the uncorrected first state; in Bienvenue & Schmidt's binding B: full pictorial cloth stamped in green and red with the imprint in non-serifed red capital letters at spine foot, illustrated pastedowns, the lower featuring the 11-line colophon enclosed in a decorative border (lacking very rare jacket; neat reinforcements and repairs to numerous plates, light spotting at a few edges; scattered thumbing, scattered repaired tears, mostly marginal; expertly restored and reinforced, cloth lightly spotted and soiled, inked gift inscription to front free endpaper); 8 3/8 x 6 1/8 in.
