  • Notes: Begins with an early printing of the Bill of Rights as recently ratified by the states (pages 3-19). Other highlights include "An Act to Establish the Post Office and Post Roads" (pages 47-52); "An Act Establishing a Mint" (pages 72-81), a treaty with the Cherokees (pages 164-170), and the Fugitive Slave Act (pages 209-211). Evans 26295 (collated incorrectly).

    This copy has good early Long Island provenance, with three inscriptions on the front free endpaper: 1793 by Ezra L'Hommedieu of Southold, NY (brother-in-law of Declaration signer William Floyd and former member of the Continental Congress); David Gelston of Bridgehampton, NY (former member of the Continental Congress); and August Floyd (1795-1878) of Mastic, NY (grandson of both William Floyd and David Gelston), with gift inscription "from D.G." in 1825.
