  • Notes: The Senate, then just two years old, was still addressing some basic issues in this session, which ran from October 1791 to May 1792. Major legislation discussed in detail here included the acts establishing the United States Post Office (pages 74-126, passim) and the Mint (pages 17-171, passim). The cod fisheries, militia organization, and pensions also receive attention. Evans 24911.
