Even though it is unsigned, we can certify that this piece is the original executed by Marfurt. It was acquired in the early '80s with a small group of sketches, all by Marfurt and most of them signed, from the heirs of Bosmans, Marfurt's publisher. In this image, Marfurt evokes Flemish architecture and the surrounding canals in a stylized, geometric way. An interesting tourist project by the most important master of Belgian Art Deco. ref.
