Considered one of the rarest contemporary versions of Gass's Journal, with only a handful of institutional copies in the U.S. Indeed, it is so uncommon that it has often escaped notice by bibliographers or has been miscatalogued as a German edition of the official Account (likely due to the 1814 imprint). The text is a translation of the French edition of 1810, with a re-engraved map. This copy bound with Jacob Morier's Reise Durch Persiaen, Armenian und Klein-Asien Nach Constantinopel.
